I actually had never been on Babbel Live, as I only found out about it, when it was already too late to sign up... so my experience so far in my language journey has been with private institutes, iTalki, private teachers. I was a bit sceptical about PBC in the beginning, as I didn't really know what to expect, and I tend to be very critical. I have finished the first month now, 8 lessons in total, and I'm really happy I signed up.

Teachers have been GREAT, super prepared, supportive and flexible. And above all, they are all extremely friendly and kind. Not only during the lessons, but also in our WhatsApp groups or if you write to them privately. I also find the other students more ambitious about their learning, than what I'm used to from other group classes, and I like that, it's really motivating.

And Guillermo is just a rockstar, who takes each and every suggestion seriously, answers you within hours, and then implements things asap. This is really what makes this project so unique and special. It already feels like a community, where you don't just have to take what's given to you, but where you can actively participate in building it, and turning it into what you want. And also, it's just fun!

So if you've thought about signing up, do it! You won't regret it!

P.S. The calendar system is really not that complicated, once you get the hang of it.

I took an average of 3 Babel private and group classes every week for the past year and enjoyed them very much and sorry to see the program shut down.

However somewhat to my surprise I have now taken 4 group and private lessons on PBC and they have been just as good and in some ways even better than Babel — excellent tutors in every case and much smaller classes with other students I liked a lot.

I was initially concerned about how PBC would work but I am no longer and have signed up for recurring monthly group classes at the very reasonable cost of 65 Euros and can roll over any classes I don't use in any given month — what's even better right now is that all the classes are free for a trial period.

My experience with PBC: simply great — brain training and even weight loss at the same time.

The teachers are dedicated and keep us motivated with homework and WhatsApp recordings, which make it much easier to remember vocabulary and sentences. I never thought just two group classes a week or a 25-minute private lesson could lead to such fast progress.

What I love most is the flexibility: you can try different teachers, set goals like preparing for B1, and even pause anytime by email. The price is fair and with a 7-day trial it's completely risk-free — highly recommended!
